Excerpt from the jury report:

"Nadine K. Cenoz draws inspiration from the archaeological discoveries on the Engehalbinsel. Her public art project Brenodora engages with the historical dimension of the site by producing and placing "found objects" on location through a multi-stage process. This establishes a connection to actual findings on the Engehalbinsel, particularly Celtic and Roman coins. The connection to the coins is established through the design adopting their material and method of production—bronze and bronze casting—and, just like the coins, acting as a medium for figurative depictions. The three fragmented bronze discs, each feature a drawn figure in relief and are set into the ground at different locations to evoke the idea of a found object and to create a feeling of searching and discovering.

This new creation of an insinuated "old" (which in fact depicts the "contemporary") cleverly plays with our visual habits and raises the question of an adequate perception of the historical and its representation.

Beyond this intellectual and theoretical level, however, the Brenodora project can also be experienced in a very concrete, sensory way by being visible and tangible, which plays an essential role in the context of a school. It seems entirely plausible for teachers to introduce the children to the art project with questions such as "What do you think this could be?" or "Has this always been here?" "Who are these figures?""
